Alexandre Zamith - Piano

As an instrumentalist, he emphasizes the musical production of the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as improvisational practice, both instrumental and combined with electronic and digital resources. His research on new music has led him to several artistic works, with which he has performed at several national and international musical and scientific meetings, with emphasis on the Performa '09 (Encontro de Investigación em Performance – Lisbon/Portugal), Composition in 21st Century Conference (Dublin / Ireland), Sonorities Festival of Contemporary Music (Belfast / Northern Ireland), X São Paulo International Biennial of Electroacoustic Music and Forum IRCAM / Brazil.

 

In 2013, he released the CD Pianisticontemporâneo, covered by the ProAC (Support Program for Culture of the State Department of Culture), with a repertoire exclusively aimed at works from the 20th and 21st centuries. He is a Professor in the field of piano and chamber music at the Institute of Arts of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), of which he was Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Music. His academic background includes a doctorate in Music from the State University of Campinas (Financiamnto - Capes), a Master's in Arts from the same institution (FAPESP funding) and a bachelor's degree in Instrument/Piano Music from the University of São Paulo. He also developed a postdoctoral project at Nusom – Sonology Research Center – USP, with funding from FAPESP. He had his piano training guided by Gilberto Tinetti, Marisa Lacorte and Mauricy Martin, and was awarded prizes such as the Young Soloists Award from OSESP and the Max Pfeffer-Santa Marcelina Chamber Music Award.
