Alexandre Zamith - Piano

Pianist Alexandre Zamith emphasizes musical production from the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as improvisatory practice, both instrumental and combined with electronic and digital resources. His research into current music led him to several artistic works, with which he has performed at several national and international musical and scientific meetings, with emphasis on Performa '09 (Performance Research Meeting – Lisbon/Portugal), Composition in 21st Century Conference (Dublin/Ireland), Sonorities Festival of Contemporary Music (Belfast/Northern Ireland), X São Paulo International Biennial of Electroacoustic Music and Forum IRCAM/Brazil.

In 2013, he released the CD Pianisticontemporâneo, covered by ProAC (Cultural Support Program of the State Secretariat for Culture), with a repertoire aimed exclusively at works from the 20th and 21st centuries. He teaches piano and chamber music at the Institute of Arts at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where he was Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Music. His academic background includes a PhD in Music from the State University of Campinas (Financiation - Capes), a Master's degree in Arts from the same institution (FAPESP Funding) and a Bachelor's degree in Music Instrument/Piano from the University of São Paulo. He also developed a post-doctoral project at Nusom – Sonology Research Center – USP, with funding from FAPESP. His piano training was guided by Gilberto Tinetti, Marisa Lacorte and Mauricy Martin, and was awarded prizes such as the OSESP Young Soloists Award and the Max Pfeffer-Santa Marcelina Chamber Music Award.
