Cristina Dignart - Electroacoustic composition

Cristina Dignart was born in Cuiabá, where she graduated in Music from the Federal University of Mato Grosso – UFMT. During undergrad she took composition classes with composer Dr. Roberto Victorio. She holds a master's degree in music (Composition and New Technologies) from the Federal University of Goiás under the guidance of Dr. Anselm Guerra. She completed her Doctorate in Composition at the University of Aveiro, in Portugal, under the guidance of the composer Dr. Joao Pedro de Oliveira. She had pieces in Contemporary Brazilian Music Biennials and participated in concerts in Cuiabá, Rio de Janeiro, Goiânia, Lisbon, Aveiro and Monaco. She has participated in masterclasses and composition workshops with François Bayle, Åke Parmerud, Luis Naon, Germán Toro-Perez, among others. She currently teaches at the Department of Music at UFPB. Most of her works are composed for electronic media. In these works, the composer enjoys exploring different approaches to sound characteristics, with emphasis on spatial elements as an expressive medium.
