Januibe Tejera – Composition and conducting
Januibe Tejera is a composer and conductor widely awarded abroad and in Brazil. He was artist-in-residence at the Casa de Velázquez / Académie des Beaux Arts de France in Madrid, Fundación Ibermúsicas, as well as a composer and guest conductor in front of various formations. He was invited to represent Brazil by Radio France International, during the celebrations of the Americas in 2015, and is currently a composer-in-residence with the ensemble Accroche Note.
His work is performed by renowned performers such as the Ensemble Phace, Ensemble TM+, Intercontemporain, the Ensemble Ictus, the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra or the Opéra de Valencia orchestra, it is programmed at the main festivals and musical events in Europe and America. , such as Festival Musica (Strasbourg), Festival Présence (Ircam-Paris), Festival WienModern (Vienna), Festival Ensems (Valencia), Festival Darmstadt and Festival de Música Milan.
In 2021 he was a guest composer at the Ensems festival. Januibe was also resident composer for the Ibermúsica foundation, for Ircam / Center Pompidou, for the collective Warning/La Pop, maison de la musique de Nanterre. Since 2016 he has been creating shows such as the Opéra Moi Singe (2016), the show Insanae Navis (2017), or even Tablado para luz e som (2019). From 2021 Januibe Tejera is Assistant Professor of Composition at the Butler School of Music – University of Austin, as well as director of EEMS - music creation center at the same EEMS institution. Graduated from the Paris Conservatory (Prix Salabert - Premier Prix), he has been a professor at several academies in Brazil, Europe and the USA.
