Mariana Salles - Violin
Violin teacher, pedagogy and didactics of stringed instruments, repertoire orchestral and chamber music at UNIRIO, he graduated in violin in the class of Prof. Paulo Bosisio, Master in Brazilian Music and Doctorate in Music from UNIRIO. She acted as a soloist playing, among others, concerts by Max Bruch, Mendelssohn, Brahms' double, as well as works by Brazilian composers such as Radamés Gnatalli, David Korenchendler and Ricardo Tacuchian. She was 1st Soloist of the Orquestra do Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro from 1996 to 2000. She was a member of the UFF Quartet and the Paulo Bosisio Quartet. She participated in numerous recordings with Djavan, Gal Costa, Caetano, Titãs Acústico, Leoni, Ivete Sangalo, among other great names in our music, as well as film and soap operas. She actively participates in the Biennials of Contemporary music in Rio de Janeiro, performing several premieres of works by Brazilian composers. Her own discography includes the following CDs: “Integral das Sonatas para violin e piano de Claudio Santoro”; “Mosaico” with pieces for violin and cello duo by Brazilian composers; “Mosaico II” by duos for violin and viola, in which she plays both instruments; Deuxiéme Trio by Villa-Lobos, Fantasia by Franck Bridge and Trio by Michael Colina together with pianist Lúcia Barrenechea; and “The two sonatas for violin and piano by the Brazilian composer Glauco Velasquez”, in partnership with the French pianist François Pinel, released by the Brazilian Academy of Music label.
Author of the book Arcadas e Golpes de Arco, now in its third edition, she now publishes “Ciência na Arte – Arte na Ciência, Violin technique and conception of musical interpretations”. She is a member of the group ABSTRAI Ensemble, specialized in contemporary music, as well as researching and disseminating the Brazilian repertoire for violin and piano in a duo with pianist Lúcia Barrenechea.
