IMG_8936_edited.jpg

Passionate about contemporary music and theater, French guitarist Rémy Reber explores contemporary music and popular music with the same eclecticism, both in Europe and in Brazil. It is mainly through musical shows and multidisciplinary performance that he crystallizes his research around sound, gesture, body and musical form, both in classical guitar and electric guitar, acting as an interpreter and/or improviser. Rémy graduated from the Conservatoire Supérieur in Paris with Roland Dyens, and collaborates with many collective groups Warn¡ng, Listen Ensemble, Cie. Eclats but also the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchester National de Metz, L'Instant Donné, Accroche Note. He regularly performs in large venues and programming in Europe and Brazil – Cité de la Musique, Ircam, Radio France, KKL Lucerne, Pompidou, Centro Cultural Sao Paulo. In 2016, Rémy Reber won first prize at the International Competition for the Interpretation of Music of the Past Century in Boulogne-Billancourt. He currently teaches classical guitar at the Kremlin-Bicêtre Conservatory, near Paris, and presents “em Toi & Moi 10 Fingers” (Cie. Eclats), a contemporary musical show for very young audiences that has been performed hundreds of times in France. His most recent solo project, Espaces Rituels, is a concert-performance built around two new works for electric and electronic guitar composed by Daniel Alvarado Bonilla and Luciano Leite Barbosa, scheduled to be premiered in spring 2022.
